Blog Action Day is an annual event held every October 15 that unites the world’s bloggers in posting about the same issue on the same day with the aim of sparking discussion around an issue of global importance. Blog Action Day 2009 will be one of the largest-ever social change events on the web. Our topic today is climate change.
Thought I'd do my duty today in honor of climate change and how it is ruining our world by first posting online to Tropicana's "Save the Rain Forest" Campaign. Well that didn't work. I posted my special number listed on the box in multiple ways, even swapped out the numbers for letters for the ones that always through me for a loop (8 for B, 0 for O). Still no luck. Then I tried to send a message to the company to inform them about the challenges I was having trying to do my good deed by having Tropicana meet their promises to do a good deed. When I had to fill in all the forms (even with auto fill) it was just too much to bear and so a bailed out of the site and chose to turn off the thermostat instead.
We are planning our Christmas holidays in southern Chile in Patagonia. I'm concerned by the reports that the glaciers in southern Chile are disappearing along with the penguins. In honor of the day I am updating here an earlier post by listing more information regarding the penguins of Chile and Patagonia. The reports and information available are very troubling:

Acid Test: The Global Challenge of Ocean Acidification
This groundbreaking NRDC documentary explores the startling phenomenon of ocean acidification, which may soon challenge marine life on a scale not seen for tens of millions of years. The film, featuring Sigourney Weaver, originally aired on Discovery Planet Green.
A blog describing my journeys in life. It opens with an accounting of my trip to Santiago, Chile. Not sure where or how it ends...it's a mystery I hope to uncover shortly. At the Lord ’s command Moses recorded the stages in their journey. This is [her] journey by stages: - Numbers 33:2
Quote of the moment
"I have to tell it again and again: I have no doctrine. I only point out something. I point out reality, I point out something in reality which has not or too little been seen. I take him who listens to me at his hand and lead him to the window. I push open the window and point outside. I have no doctrine, I carry on a dialogue." Martin Buber
