We spent ALL of the afternoon at the Kennel Club de Chile dog show held at the Gymnasium Santiago Bueras at MaipĂș today, getting home at 9PM.
In the meantime happy to say the vicious attack of the giant size roll of paper towel was put asunder by our two valiant guard dogs, Samson our Maltese and Natasha Rose, our Vizsla 3-month-old puppy
It appears they used the garbage can as cover, having knocked it over, and then heroically leaped upon it to kill the marauding roll of paper towel attacking at its jugular. They then did a victory lap around the kitchen island with the entrails of the paper towel ...oh say about 2-3 times...Did I mention it was the VERY gigantic size roll of paper towel.
And while all this was happening back home we enjoyed watching the second day of the dog show (Horario Domingo 13 de Noviembre 2011). Andy loved it, though Jorge and I have decided the next all day dog show we bring stadium pillows!
The dogs were spectacular and the handlers full of grace. Outside the ring were exhibits and dog adoptions with spaying. Scattered about it all were the local strays, including one unfortunately who had an oozing infection and had decided to take a nap in the stands with the audience.
Below are my MANY photos of the dogs as they strutted there stuff for the judges, two of whom were from the USA,
and the other two from Mexico.
The Best of Show was a Shih tzu.
I loved watching the Akita handler, Dr. Fernando Burgos M. and his dogs so much so I asked for his card.
We'll see if there is any hope for our paper towel killer Vizsla in the ring.
A blog describing my journeys in life. It opens with an accounting of my trip to Santiago, Chile. Not sure where or how it ends...it's a mystery I hope to uncover shortly. At the Lord ’s command Moses recorded the stages in their journey. This is [her] journey by stages: - Numbers 33:2
Quote of the moment
"I have to tell it again and again: I have no doctrine. I only point out something. I point out reality, I point out something in reality which has not or too little been seen. I take him who listens to me at his hand and lead him to the window. I push open the window and point outside. I have no doctrine, I carry on a dialogue." Martin Buber
